We are excited to announce two new features that will enhance the quality of your workplace intelligence by tracking presence and combatting ghost bookings without the need for external hardware.
1. Expanded Check-In Protocols: QR Code Check-In
Check-in protocols play a key role in ensuring that unused spaces are auto-released for re-booking and that your occupancy data is accurate and reliable. Skedda sends check-in reminders through an in-app notification, emails, and Slack and Microsoft Teams to make remembering to check-in easy. We’re now introducing QR code-based check-in, an exciting add-on to our existing check-in options that serves as a physical reminder to check-in.
QR code check-in is particularly effective for high-touch spaces where it’s important to confirm that check-ins happen (e.g., desks, equipment, lockers).
This new feature offers a simple and reliable way to enhance accountability and ensure accurate occupancy reporting.

2. Trust, But Verify: Wifi-Based Attendance Tracking
Tracking attendance and compliance with RTO policies can be challenging. Organizations want to report on compliance without eroding employees' trust or relying on active methods of tracking that have low adoption.
That’s where our new Wifi-based attendance tracking feature comes in. This tool provides a reliable way to corroborate utilization data, report on return-to-office policy compliance, and deter ghost bookings.
With Wifi-based tracking, Skedda detects when a user who has made a booking connects to your workplace Wifi. As soon as the user interacts with Skedda while on-site, they’ll be marked as “seen on-site.” This presence verification is visible only to system administrators and can be included in data exports from your List view.
Setting up Wifi-based tracking is easy—just add your office’s IP addresses to the Occupancy page in your Skedda settings. For the best experience, we recommend using Wifi-based Occupancy alongside QR code
